This year, BFCNNJ had 12 entries for Conformation, judged by Mr. Joseph Reno and 4 for Sweepstakes, judged by Mr. Jerome Elliot. Best of Show was awarded to GCH CH Stirling Ruffles have Ribbons and Best of Opposite Sex was awarded to Judges Choice n’ Mykall’s Stargazer. Judge Jerome Elliot awarded Best of Sweepstakes to Whitebreds Pop Star Goes Boom and Best of Veterans GCHB CH Paray’s Don’t Make me Plush.
The Bichon Frise Club of Northern New Jersey worked the Bichon Frise table at the AKC Meet the Breeds event at the Javits Center in New York City on February 7 & 8, 2026. There were 150 different Breeds, demonstrations, activities for the kids, food, friends and fun! It might have been below freezing outside, but it was still attended by over 30,000 visitors! Special shout out to our members for working the booth with their precious pups – Diane Capone, Diane Cianfrano, Christina & Andrew Garino, Angie & Jim O’Mara, Xiuying Li & Z, Joni & Ken Friedman, Karen Graeber, Jen Celeste, and of course our fearless coordinator – Danelle Garino!
Our annual Holiday Party was held at Benvennuti restaurant in East Hanoveron on December 7th, 2025
We had a nice sunny day and about 12 dogs showed up to participate in the festivities! All the dogs got goodie bags and the humans had some snacks and drinks too! It was great to see everyone. We also talked about some upcoming fun opportunities for the club such as the AKC Meet the Breeds in February 2026 and our Annual Holiday Luncheon which will be in early December – stay tuned for more info!!

On January 25 & 26, 2025 the American Kennel Club (AKC) hosted a Meet the Breed event at the Javits Center in New York City. This is a great event where the general public can come and meet over 150 different dog breeds in person. Not to mention the demos of dog agility, canine officers, the sport of disc, teaching your dog tricks, and more! There were also events for kids, food and vendors. Our Bichon club members and dogs manned the Bichon Frise Booth at the event. We were there to answer questions that visitors had, give out cards from the National Bichon Club with information about the club and breed and allow the general public to behold the beauty of the breed in person,

BFCNNJ members (two and four-legged) had loads of fun at our annual Howl-O-Ween party. Prizes were awarded for best costumes: Cutest, prettiest, funniest, most original and best Bichions Frises ensemble. Everyone went home with a prize or goody bag!
